About the Artist : Ruben Figueroa
Hi my name is Ruben Figueroa and I am the proprietor of ''Annointed Air designs'' . Annointed Air is a ministry , It is a place in my life where i can share what God has done in my life through art ,and also share the Gospel with others through my artwork . I am a self taught Airbrush artist since 1988 , @ 19yrs old . Although the artistic talents run in my family , airbrushing has been a big part of my life .
I have always known about being Religious but I never wanted to be a religious person ,( I hated religion ). At a early age My Parents became Christians and brought us (children) along with them , at first i hated going to a church where I had to stand every 5 minutes to sing and pray but I thank God for what he has done in my Parents lives , Saving them and bringing them to show me what God was all about , but growing up as a youngster in the streets and doing what every kid does that sees the streets as a safe place . I joined the gang life. being a gang member I did alot of dirt and hurt alot of people .
My decision to follow the world was my own , I never wanted it to reflect on my upbringing .
I grew up between Carson and Wilmington , went to School in both cities and a few others not by choice, but because i HAD to .
My juvenile days were the hardest days i had to live by , getting into trouble and doing time at young age , The craziest thing about how ''I'' decided to live my life growing up , was that I thought it was cool . But being a grown up now I see things in a different way , through a different window. and i don't see anything cool about that old lifestyle . I thank God for my Parents , they always were on me about living a Godly life and being a Christian , but like I said before I was young and didn't want that life . Through out my entire life I was always drawing and was always getting into trouble with my art . My Father used to tell me my artwork wasn't going to get me anywhere , But until I picked up a airbrush , and he saw what I can do with it ? That is when I knew I would make something with my life , but i was still LOST , I still didn't have what I needed in my life , Allthough I felt I had to show everyone what I was made of , It didn't matter . . . I worked hard and it took a long time to get where i am now . But now I do things for HIS Glory!
My oldest sister believed in me the most and helped me to get started airbrushing . after purchasing everything I needed to paint with ,She was my best customer even when my art was really bad starting off . . . She paid for it and gave me my confidence. In 1997 I was going through a rough time in my life , I was going through a divorce and I was at a point in my life where i felt like i was going to break ,I lost all Faith in everything and in everyone . In 2Timothy 2: 13 says " If we are faithless, HE remains faithful: He cannot deny Himself . I had to come to a place where i remembered Gods promises Even though I lost faith , God never did . He stayed faithful to me . God had a plan for me and my life . I had to do what Mary and Joseph did when they lost Jesus as a kid , and that was go back to ''CHURCH'' where I last left Him . I had to seek first His kingdom and ALL His righteousness in order for Him to work in my life. Since then I no longer know a religion , I have a relationship with The Almighty God .
Now I have a great job, Primary custody of my 2 sons , and a talent used in a ministry for His Glory .
Annointed Air designs came about by devoting myself to working with churches in the areas of painting murals , banners , t-shirts , etc. I also am looking forward to working with some outside ministries such as rap groups , motorcycle ministries , car clubs , etc . . . . Come see what God has done for me and my art ministry.
I would love to be a blessing to you and your ministry , youth , children's , churches . . etc .
